Forum Question

Just a bit of pot stirring here. Why do people either not read a post or fail to comprehend the thrust of the post if they do read it?
I am referring specifically to the common campground complaint post of yesterday. The OP asked for common complaints that management had control over. To me this means facility, infrastructure, or policy problems.
A few poster did address the OP's question, while the majority jumped in with the usual inane litany of people problems which equates to if you are not exactly like me you are an inconsiderate boob.

Remember, we have RVers from Alaska to Florida and everything in between. We all comprehend differently...that is the beauty of this forum.

The question in that thread asked what are common campground complaints. The way I see it the majority DID read the question and responded with what they have seen in their day as the type of complaints that CG owners get. What part of that is so confusing to you? Even if you don't understand why anyone would make those complaints, to the person responding, those are the types of complaints that they noticed.

I don't think their reading comprehension was off. I think your interpretation of the post was the one that is a bit constricting. Did you ever stop to think maybe your interpretation wasn't the exact correct interpretation? In my opinion the litany of people problems you are speaking of ARE in the management's control. People being too loud after quiet hour, children out of control, incessant barking dogs...just to name a few... ARE issues a CG should manage if the campers in question are breaking CG rules.

In my time so far of camping at virtually all types of CG's - very quiet ones, extremely busy ones, in between ones....it is usually the very busy ones at near or full capacity that will have many more 'people problem' type of complaints, but those complaints still have to be managed by the CG managers and many of them are legit. Just because a person is ignorant of the rules of the CG doesn't mean they should have full reign to disobey them to the point that the comfort of others are sacrificed. There will always be a fine line in enforcing them as some people will complain about everything - but you can't assume that everyone of those complaints are not valid and not issues the park management should enforce.

I have found that it's very difficult to answer a question without hearing it first. :h

How dare you put your "dog's poop" in my trash can. That would be nearly as bad as cutting threw my site.

One thing that drives me nutz is threads started in incorrect sections. I report those constantly.

The division of forums is not an absolute. Most of us just read the questions and if we think we can help them we answer irregardless of the content of the question or what the OP owns for an RV. So MANY camping/Rv'ing questions are not specific RV model related. It's certainly not the end of the earth if it's posted under a different heading. Albeit god forbid you answer something in one particular forum if you don't own one, even if you are the ONLY one on the earth with the correct answer that could help them out of jam.
