Found it somewhat rude.

Camped four nights at Blue Springs SP last weekend. Was leaving headed for the sewer dump and a fifth wheel kind of pulled out in the road as I was approaching. OK, he was ready to go, bad timing. He had a friend on the roof holding some branches away from his side (tight hammock-needs trimmed), they clear the branches, fifth wheel stops and is blocking the road, friend climbs down, disappears around the side. Fine, friend probably getting in truck.

We wait and wait and wait 5-10 minutes, now two more RV's behind me. Nobody honking, every being patient.

THEN the friend who was on top pulls out in HIS TT/truck who is camped on the other side; the fiver was blocking so they could both go down to the dump station together.

Thought it rude. I would not hold up traffic so my buddy could get in line. I went home and dumped with my macerator.

I think that scenario would more likely apply to the Labor Day dump station issue I found on the Labor Day Horror Stories thread and posted on this one. And to restate, If a polite "did you realize there are 5 vehicles waiting to get to the dump station?" gets an irate response, then yes, back off, get out the camp chairs, have another cup of coffee and wait the hot head out. If he says "Oh crap, I didn't realize it" and promptly moves, you have single handly given him the idea that he needs to keep his head on the outside his body cavity and looking around.

Some of the "Me first" at all cost generation do not have a clue that there is anyone else on the planet except for them. Sorry that we all have to deal with these idiots on a regular basis.

I think it was rude, but nothing to get the torches out to flame both posters and the OP. My guess is the two saw there was a lineup behind the 5ver and decided to block the line until the TC could get out. If they were traveling together the 5ver should have dumped, and then waited for the TC.

Do you think if there wasn't a lineup the 5ver would have blocked the road?

Found this on the "Labor Day Horro Stories" section of the General RVing Issues. I think it was rude. Never says why she needed/wanted to go to the head of the line. Had she said something about an emergency she may have been allowed to go first. If she didn't her bad.

"My only problem came at the dump station. A real nasty lady (swearing at everyone) and her family tried to cut in line at the dump station. She tried to cut around 10 of us who had been waiting there for a least 30 min. I had to use my truck and 5th wheel to block her. The ranger made her driver all the way to the back of the line. I got the 1 finger salute when they left. I think I ruined her day. The other campers thanked me for standing my ground with her."

HE DID NOT KNOW THE ACTUAL ACT.

GET IT. GET IT FROM THE ORIGNAL POST.

the OP did not know REALLY why the delay. but in the end the other got in front and that is what ticked him off.

come on ya'll. ya gotta see this is really just a pet peeve that is annoying while it is happening and people got to get over this stuff and NOT post about it. cause when you post such trivial things, it shows YOUR true colors.

and the negative nancy people ARE on this board. I seen it many times ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

The obstructing of a CG road while actively unhooking or hooking up & leaving is not a problem. Obstructing a CG road while having a chat with a neighbour or any other reason while you waste others time is.

having fun in a whining thread. I want to whine back. I am enjoying the stupidity of it all and also adding to it in a small way ๐Ÿ™‚

what fascinates me most of this whole thread is the time.

5-10 minutes.

:S

we are now down to 5-10 minutes and the whining commences! :R

what would the post been worded like if it was 15-20 minutes :B
What fascinates me is how many times you must respond in this thread to repeat your disagreement with the OP. :R

My experience is people don't pull out of their campsite into the road until they are ready to roll. To pull out in front of someone else and stand there for any length of time is definitely somewhat rude.

I just don't understand why people go camping and then worry about such trivial stuff. I have a family member like that. She complains about the kids being too loud, people taking too long in the shower, people having a fire with too much smoke, etc.

Hey, I'm not home, I'm not at work, I'm out in nature. Waiting an extra 5-10 minutes is no bother to me. I might even use that time to drink a beer before we hit the road (with my wife driving, of course). :C
