Where I store my RV's there are no dumpy trailers in covered storage. Open storage there are dumpy trailers, they do not want to pay the higher price to store junky trailers in covered storage.

EDIT- The sun will dry out the roof sealant, fade the paint or oxidize fiberglass, fade and dry out graphics and the UV rays will make tires dry out and cracks in the sidewalls. If you want to keep your new trailer looking nice I would look for covered storage.

Personally, I think the sun does more damage then fellow RV'ers.

The only storage at that RV Park is 2 lots, one concerete and the other dirt. There does not appear to be any covered parking. If storage is $30 a month, in Arizona, you can bet your buns, the spaces are not covered. So, no, not jumping to conclusions. Making an observation based on the surrounding area, and what Google Earth shows. And if you read my post, I did not say anything about FELLOW RV's doing any damage.

The comment I made about the sun doing more damage then fellow RV'ers was personal opinion, not in response to your post. That's why I said Personally. I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well.

I just looked at the park on Google Earth. The RV park is a long one-road strip of nice looking Park Models interspersed with RV sites.

The storage lots are also a long strip of parking (uncovered). One of the lots is at the corner of the busy Apache Trail Rd and the other side borders Ironwood Rd, also busy. The second RV storage is next door at Ironwood & 4th.

So one side of the whole complex is along a highway and the other side is the RV park and to that side are nice homes - with pools.

For $30/month you will not get a covered spot and $30/month is very cheap. There are approx. 70 RVs parked there - of all sizes and about a dozen boats (there are lakes nearby - yes, in Arizona).

The OP needs to go there and check it out himself and compare it to other storage facilities. No one here can say if it's a good or bad deal.

As far as the office manager not giving a private tour, I would imagine she's the only one in that office and can't leave readily. It's not a real big RV park to have more employees.

Maybe she could not leave the office???? Employees can not always drop everything to assist just you...........

At least you can go & look at your spot. The campground we sometimes store ours at you do not even know where it is. You just know it is in one of their lots with the other 2000 plus campers & they put it where they want to..... maybe its with the '57 Spartan that is always stored there...... If it mattered to me we would not leave it there... they pull it, & park it.......

I was trying to rent a RV Storage spot for a very new RV that I just purchased and I was trying to find a safe and clean place for storage. I asked to shown the lot and was told you can drive by it and look at it. I asked again and came up with the same resistance of not wanting to show me the storage lot.

She said she has managed the place for 15 years and this was not the place for me because I was asking too many questions about the lot. Kind of makes you wonder if this is a safe and secure place.

If anyone knows who actually owns this place I would like to contact them and let them know how the place is truly being managed.

The owner can take the opinion of a 15 year employee or someone who he has never met. Sounds like a coin flip....NOT

Second, why care who's parked next to you

I'm moving in my lot to another spot. Boat on left side has billowing plastic cover poorly secured-overflows into my site. Boat trailer on right side has canvas cover which flaps into my spot. Both can rub on my RV in windy day. I've complained twice, owners called, but efforts to secure the covers are inadequate. Lot was very accommodating in moving me to a spot without these problems.

First off, did you call and ask about an "appointment" to have someone show you the storage lot? If not, why not? That's the proper procedure. Expecting someone to drop what they're doing, perhaps leaving the phones and/or office unattended while doing so is IMHO, unreasonable. Setting an appointment eliminates this issue.

Second, why care who's parked next to you. You might rent your space because of the awesome Prevost parked there, only to find out that converted school bus parked two rows over actually belongs there....when we say stop and smell the roses, we don't mean looking down our noses at them...just sayin....Dennis

At the storage lot I use there is usually just one person in the office. They would have to close the office to show a site. Most people would be fine with a map if necessary , access and request to check out site on their own. I would be. If it was my business and someone wanted to be escorted to the site, I'd find a way to accommodate him. It may require setting up appointment for mutually agreeable time. With sites to rent this small interaction is a great time to sell the advantages of the business.
