How did you get those passes, at the park entry? Or do you have to get them from some state office?
If you are referring to Golden Access pass I got mine in person years ago applying at National Forest District office in Colorado and producing the necessary VA paperwork as a 100% disabled vet P&T. Later as backup to my Golden Access (In case I lost it) I applied for and received America The Beautiful pass years ago also.
I sent in the same VA paperwork and completed application forms to headquarters of the Oregon and California State Parks system. Actually in case of California I did everything online at their website sent in the VA letters by email to their email address. Same with the discount fishing license but I had to send a regular check by snail mail for $8.48cents for five year license. Took about 2 weeks for both Oregon and California - CroweExplorerThe problem with programs like this is that as administrations change. The program may be revoked, expanded or just continued... - pitchExplorer IIVeteran program applies only to admission. As I read it you still the Golden access for discount camping.
- NamMedevac_70Explorer IICalifornia was mentioned in the above link and although I am a non resident 100% disabled vet the state of California has issued me a Distinguished veterans 50% discount pass to stay in their state parks and also issued me 5 year full fishing license for only $8.48. I do spend a lot of time in the state fishing and camping. Oregon has also given me their veterans pass for many days of free and discount camping at SPs that I used extensively for two years.
I also have the federal Golden Access and America The Beautiful campground and park passes now for many years that I frequently use every year at NF and BLM campgrounds. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIHumm.. I'm named after an Uncle who died in WWII.
That said. I'm no longer camping so not an issue.
