easier said than done. all the wires up into the rv thru the panels etc. all the wires underneath run with all the rv wires from everything...big mess

just for fun again, i took off all the ground wires from all the tanks...nothing happened to any of the monitor lights, every tank had the same indicator lights on or off.

if i could just run new wires to the fresh water, i would find a way with a separate panel just for it... i just may do it.

think it just may be the panel. the original worked for 2 times out, it was replaced with new one, it worked for 2 more times and then i forgot about it and moved on.

Ours and everyone else we know has working gauges. Ours is 9 years old. If they don't work get the factory to tell you how to install new ones. They should also have them available.
Not a heck of a lot of fun trying to guess when to turn off the water supply when you are filling the tank or when you must empty the black and gray water.
When you do install new sensors or gauges make sure to wire a gauges into your wet bay. Not much fun running from the coach out to the wet bay to keep abreast of progress in filling or draining.

even went further today. the tank still reads full with all the wire off the tank and just hanging. so i assume the panel? or is there some type of resistance from the other wires on the other tanks since they are all wired together? thanks

Per day water usage is pretty consistant. The tank sensors, no matter which one, are virtually useless. My black one reads full after one deposit after dumping. The grey water reads full after a day of use. Meanwhile the freshwater is still reading all four lights. The freshwater lights happen to be the only guage that works, sort of. I know that when I have two lights showing I have one day worth of water left. I have five days worth from four lights/full.

Gave up stressing over those stupid lights a long time ago.

have had plenty of rvs, they never worked, i just thought i would amuse myself and fix them. my sensors are spun in so i would drill new ones and use the horst ones. but, is it the sensors, the little resistor wires or the panel? that is the question. thanks for those chiming in.

sensors are one thing the manufactures can eliminate if they are worried about cutting prices, since they never work more than once or twice anyway.

My fresh water tank is under the couch, when I replaced the front panel with one with doors I also made a window to see the water tank and installed a light then measured the height of the tank and painted marks to show 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 full.

The gauges stopped workin a looong time ago, my eyes are still working, try not to worry so much about something that will drive you nuts in the long run, enjoy the RV and the out doors, life is to short to worry.

You're trying to fix something which is notoriously inaccurate.

The fresh water tank is translucent and I can see the actual level from the inspection port for the pump. Grey and black are emptied based on number of days of service. Panel Indicators are not used at all.
