- "satchelpaigefan" and "fifthwheeltraveler" seem to be very recent members and have only posted about the FridgeFix. I believe they may have connections to that company. The device looks like good hardware, a bit high in price but nicely done.
Just a heads-up. - We tried the inexpensive fans from ebay, but after two failed in six months, it was back to square one. The battery fans didnt move the air enough to even notice, so we threw ours out after 2 months.
A friend of ours who fulltime's with us showed us his fridge-fix, and he swore by it. We were tire of defrosting, so we ordered one as a last ditch effort.
We have not defrosted, not even once since installing more than 6 months ago! We even got rid of the cooler we used to carry to keep the food in.
We like to spread the word when we find something that makes living in an RV easier, and this definitely meets that criteria. - I have a battery powered one. Got it because the temps in the refrigerator could be alarmingly warm. It makes the temps much more consistent, and generally colder. Moved the temp setting one position toward warmer so as not to freeze things, where previously I was often seeing temps in the mid-40's.
Instructions said the batteries would last a month. I doubted that, but in fact, they last longer than that. dakonthemountain wrote:

I just installed the same one from eBay. I'm really happy with it! A VERY low (.12a) draw on the battery; like an LED light bulb..

Been using one for a few years now. No batteries, no space lost (best feature) and, comparing it to the Camco that I had before, it works a lot better. If the fridge is on and it is clamped to the fins it works. Unclamp it from the fins and it turns off (breaks the ground path) or turn off the 12v to the fridge and it turns off.daveshan wrote:

Dak- I use the Valterra one with two C batteries. Worked for at least a month until I pulled the batteries in it to get things into storage. It did help refrigerator performance, so well worth it.
- Just be careful - these fans can work too well. We had our fridge set on the highest cool setting and had one of these types of fans running - was a small blue one from camping world. Ended up almost freezing some veggies. No cucumbers for my salad - was not happy.

I like the looks of that set-up although the amount of air movement seems to be a bit of overkill. I like that it hooks directly on the fins.
