Good Sam Insurance w/ replacement value

Any one here have Good Sam insurance w/ replacement value? If so, have you had to make a claim. How was the claim handled? Any positives, negatives?

I've gotten offers from Good Same in the past for full replacement insurance, but my rigs were never new enough to qualify. Now I have one new enough to qualify.

Good Sam insurance is through GMAC insurance when I had it. They started out low but got expensive very quickly. Went to over $3000 a year. Called agent and got same coverage with Nationwide for $1260

Had allied (nationwide company) on our TT. Got the MH and GS insurance gave us a quote through GMAC and then allied. Allied was half the price with the same coverage.

Our new insurance is with Allied. I was assured by them that if there were no losses there would be no rate increase. It wasn't a teaser rate like some of these companies do. Allied is a part of Nationwide.

  • I have had Good Sam/National General Insurance on our MH since it was new because of the replacement aspect of the coverage. It is reasonalble for the replacement coverage option in my opinion. I did have a tree fall on our MH during the Sandy Hurricane that damanged the roof, slide and hood. They were very good in handling the claim and getting the MH fixed by a reliable shop. Since I have a loan on this MH I use the insurance sort of like gap insurance is used on a car.
  • Thanks.

Currently, I have everything, house, autos, and RV's with State Farm. The RV insurance rate is very good. And I've had an RV claim, but interestingly no auto claims, except for windshields.

I lost a Class B to a fire. State Farm handled it quickly and reasonably.

The main reason I would think about changing the RV side is for replacement insurance. (I've never had such a new RV before) I'll have check with my agent to see if State Farm carries replacement value insurance, and, if so, the $$$ attached. :E
