Goodyear MH tire issue?

Just heard this on the news. Is this for real these tires are between 15 and 21 years old and should have been replaced by the owner years ago due to age!

On Edit; It appears on reading the complete story that these failures happened years ago, many in the early 2000.

OP is scareing me, our GYM's are 6 yrs old & maybe 15K on them they look new as I always keep them covered whined setup at camp or storage.
