When we took my DW's 80 year old mother to Alaska, I wanted to make our metal steps on the 5er safer. Took old pieces of carpet and cut to fit to steps. Than glued velcrow strips to the back of the carpet such that I could easily attach and remove the carpet from the steps. By removing them I could keep them "dry" when it rained a lot.
