You're WELCOME everyone!
I have purchased those little solar lights for as cheap as $1.00 on close out. After this weekend (Labor Day) Walmart usually has some patriotic ones they clear out.
I have questioned taking a terracotta pot long (just something to break). Kitty litter in a container would hold it easily. If you're at a beach just use sand. If I wasn't worried about adding more weight to our entourage I would pour a little QuickCrete into a small container (like a margarine container) with a piece of appropriate sized PVC pipe down in it. After it's cured just tip it out, paint it and there ya go. Then you can just slide the stem of the solar light down into the PVC pipe, and the take it out when you break camp. Awhile back we were mixing up concrete for a project. Hub poured the leftover wet cement into a couple margarine containers and put eye bolts into the top. I have used those little gems so much! Perfect size and I can tie things to them. We are going to celebrate one of our grandson's birthdays today, and I'll toss it in to anchor helium balloons to.
ALSO - I didn't dig through the WHOLE forum to see if this has been mentioned yet, but we keep a couple headlamps in the camper. I love having my hands free, but decent light around me. If someone leaves early and our dogs hear them pullout they decide they HAVE TO GO OUT and potty...even if it's 3 am. So.. out we go, and the head lamp is just the best to keep my hands free since I have two dogs on leashes.
Generally you can find those at the "dollar store" anytime. saves from having to shop at WM
