Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Another member suggested a new forum section with new products but it doesn't look like it will be feasible. So I thought I would post this here under General RVing Issues. If enough people post (even if you have mentioned it before in another post) we can keep it near the top?

Do you have a handy hint, a new product or an old product that makes your RVing or Camping much better?

(Sorry, no commercial advertising allowed)

I'll start:

Someone in the Camping Van posted a reference to using a Super-Chamois to wipe down their shower. I have been using an icky old thick sponge and I like the chamois idea so much more.

Now I want to hear what works for you

I've thought about doing this...so....what's the verdict? Class C or Class A? Bed over cab, wondering if the extra few inches would impact "roll over space".... ๐Ÿ™‚

A simple tip about cooking. Whenever I make bacon I fry up the entire package. This serves 2 purposes. I never look in the back of the fridge and find that pack of bacon I forgot I had from 1986 and I only have to clean up one time a week or so. This could also be done in your stix and brix. Whatever is not eaten can then be placed in a ziplock and frozen. Next time you need bacon you simply open the bag and take out what you need. Heat it for a few seconds if you need, but i've found that cold bacon tastes as good as slightly warm bacon. Makes a quick snack straight from the freezer.

2 things, buy the thick sliced version if you want it to remain bacon shaped, and cook your bacon slowly to give it the best flavor and keep it safe. High heat and the preservatives(nitrates) do not go well. Or you could use the thin sliced stuff and have a bacon bits.
No one notices when someone else's freedoms are taken away. Just remember, eventually you will be someone else.

At first thought I was expecting some battery-operated whiz-bang gizmo, but this isn't one of those late night gotta haves. telescoping roasting forks are nice to have...don't know that I need the rotisserie feature (I can just spin the handle!).
