HELP - I need to find this valve and rebuild kits.

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a hard to find (maybe even outdated) blade/knife valve. It was used in two of our 60's coaches.

The control handle is not 90degs from the pipe as the newer blade/gate/knife valves are.
It runs the direction of the pipe in which the valve is installed on and you rotate the lever to open and close the valve.

I found: GSR Sun Valley, Calif., Part #3904 and tested/approved by: IAPMO which is inside the shape of an armed shield all of which is stamped on the valve.

Sorry the site does not allow me to attach pictures from my computer.
ASAP I will find a place to store the pictures and post the links here.

Thank you for your help.

Maybe you could replace it with a valve with a cable pull.

Is there room to change the plumbing to accommodate a current manufacture waste valve?

I also called a number that was listed for R&G Sloane Manufacturing Co. But I believe it went to a nonworking cell phone.

I'll see if I can find another number for them..

UPDATE: I'm away for days on end and today I'm back at my computer. I want to thank those trying to help.

Please keep the info coming.

A good friend who's valve I used in the pictures is also looking for one.
IF you look closer at the first pic - you can see the place where the hand crank goes it stripped out.

Marie and I own six of these coaches and they all need to be restored.

FYI -

I've tried a lot of things.
I sent an email with pictures and spoke with Valterra.
I did the same with Vintage Trailer Supply, I was even on the phone with them while they looked at the pics.
I called and wrote a couple big vintage trailer restoration companies.

BTW - I found the R and G company a while ago and they are not the same company who made those valves years ago.

I've been told by a third party that GSR - who's stamp is on the valve is no longer in business and has not been for years. However, I have not found if or when they went out of business, or if they simply changed their name. But then again I have no clue.

Signed I wish we could use the newer style gate valve. GRIN

Thanks again.
Sincerely, Tony

did you measure grooves and the opening
seals could be a standard size
and GSR might be the old name for the company that is Valtera
IIRC Valtera is in Sun Valley

i doubt that UltraVan used a custom pipe
that valve is no longer mfg,
but its only the mechanism that is different
i'm betting the pipe size and seals are common
won't hurt to Call Valtera and ask to speak to an OLD timer whos been there a long time
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Thanks Lynnmor. That is an idea should we not be able to find replacements.

BTW - This all started off with another Ultravan member/owner in need of replacing the valve shown in the pictures. Then I went to look under 2 of our LM coaches and found that I too should be concerned; when it comes time to fixing the plumbing.

Hard to use the plumbing if your dump valves are not in working order. GRIN

Are the seals the only problem? Maybe you could take it to a machine shop and have parts made or new seals fitted.
