Hiall,
Wondering if anybody has used spring bars of another brand on a hensley arrow hitch. I'm needing to upgrade from 1000lb. bars to 1400lb. ones, and they are pretty pricey from hensley.Has anyone used eaz lift, they look exactly the same. Hope someone has tried this and can advise.
Thanks,
Dave and Rainy

Thanks Barney,
I did have the conversation with Hensley, and I am aware of the need for the different bushings. I had in my mind that the way lift ones could be the same, a friend brought his was lift 1000lb. bars over and we compared tbem, darn if they sent identical. I think they are thicker when they go to the 1400. Never thought about draw tire, but will check on that. I did call was lift and they had basically a no comment on whether their bars are made for Hensley.... Haha, alternative truth.
Thanks for the help!

Dave,
If you are going from 1000lb bars to 1400lb ones you will also need to get new bar insert bushings for the hitch head. They are a wear item so should probably be replaced anyway if your hitch is several years old and has had much use or has not been greased regularly.

I believe Hensley purchases their bars from either EazLift or DrawTite (same as Reese). They may machine a bit on the groove in the top of the bar but I'm not positive of that. I would give them a call and ask but I think they will fit your existing head with new insert bushings.
