hitch blocked by another trailer

I went to hitch up my trailer this morning and someone parked there 30 foot travel trailer about 10 feet in front of my travel trailer and blocked me. I didn't have time to mess with it but I only have about 10 feet of room and I don't think I can get my vehicle in there to hitch it up. Any suggestions? It's a 30 foot 5000lb travel trailer. It's parked on level ground. I don't think I'm going to be able to find the person that did it.

Why close it? The thread will fall out of favor like all the others and fade off into the archives.

Interesting, how is blocking defined? Is there separate language for automobiles and trailers? Three feet of space gets a car out but not a trailer and how do they know how long the tow vehicle is, could be a regular cab short bed, crew cab long bed or maybe a MDT.

Answer: it is blocked if you can't get it out. If it is a vehicle or trailer, It can't be blocked in by another vehicle or trailer. So whatever the owner has that he pulls his trailer with if he can't get it out he is blocked.

In our scout troop we would have sent one of the new guys to go find a sky hook, then you could lift the tongue of the camper over far enough to hitch up.

The OP suddenly realized that he was in an RV park and with a 1:00 PM check-out time, the other trailer would soon be gone. Now, he's just to embarassed to come back and tell us that he didn't know where he was.

The OP must have realized that the front trailer was his other trailer.

He's also using Verizon for internet access, but apparently not to update this thread.

If the OP can't hook it with 10 feet of room, he certainly doesn't need to be pulling it down the street or highway! :R

All in due time 🙂
I want to give the OP every chance to update us.
I am also curious to know how it ended.

This is your second request to close this thread. It's not your trailer that's parked in front of the OP's is it??

In my hood, if it is blocking your trailer from being moved it can be towed by Police. You can not block another vehicle in whether your legally parked or not. If you hook up to a trailer that is not yours even to move it you can be charged with a crime, and would be liable for any damage to it. The offending trailer can only be on street for 72 hours without being moved. Police can tag it and then cite and tow 72 hours later. When I park my trailer in front of my house I always block the front with one of my vehicles. This has happened to me but I was able to find other owner and resolved problem. These are the rules for my local area.
