Going to get our first fifth wheel rig we are looking at has a GVWR of 11,250 and a GCWR of 14,250. Have a 2012 Dodge 3500 DSL Dually with the megacab. Would like a automatic slider since we have the 6.5 ft bed

Google Blue Ox Super Ride hitch. Not a slider but will articulate rearwards when you need additional clearance. This hitch checks a lot of boxes.

You sure you donโ€™t mean UVW of 11,250 and GVWR of 14,250?

Yeah...5th wheel trailers don't have a GCWR number.

Top of the heap of auto sliders is the Pullrite Superglide.

A newer model 5th wheel trailer can have the rounded/notched front corners made for short bed trucks you may not need a slider.

Well, the 2 most common autoslides are the Pullrite and the Demco. I have the Demco 18k and have had no issues. My trailer is about 11.5k- 12k loaded and have over 30k miles of towing on this hitch in 3.5 years. I just replaced the pivot pin for the jaws because it had a little wear spot on it. That's it.

I like the Anderson but I grew up on a farm and am more familiar with gooseneck type setups. I have a short bed and with it flipped back, I've not had any issues.

I tow with a short box and have no interest in getting any kind of sliding hitch but if you're worried about cab to trailer contact, I think you're wise going to an automatic slider.
