Homeless - safe to store propane/gas in car while sleeping?

See if you can find a forest area to head to. Find out about dispersed camping in the forest. You may be able to set up a camp at no charge in a dispersed area for a specified period of time. You then could have the propane, gas outside your vehicle at night - put up a tarp tied to trees and have a dry area to cook outside. I also agree with you about shelters. The ones in our area are also in the downtown ghetto area and most that use them are not desirable people to be around at all.
