How do you clean an electric toilet

I've got a Dometic electrically actuated toilet in the half bath and I keep it very clean using a toilet brush and RV toilet cleaner but recently I noticed that it's not holding water in the tank for any length of time.

My problem is how do I thoroughly clean the toilet ball at the bottom that holds the water in the tank. With the old foot activated pedals it was easy. I would just hold the pedal down and scrub the toilet ball with the brush. I'd also clean around the drain while it was open.

But with the electric bowl when I push the flush button, it jerks the ball open for a few seconds and then closes automatically and it doesn't give me time or stop for me to brush it out.

There must be a trick to this somehow.

if it is a 4300 or 4400 series there is a small round cap on the back edge at the top open it and using a blunt object push it down this puts the toilet in manual mode
    Thanks, that did the trick.
