Heads up: TxDot Crews will be shutting down a stretch of I-10 in west El Paso this weekend.

Road restriping work set for Sunday, February 9, will require a 26-hour closure of I-10 West from Shuster to Sunland Park Drive from 4 a.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10.

Crews will also be moving barriers along with restriping main lanes and shifting traffic flow.

As a result, if you're heading to the far west side you will have to exit at Shuster and take the recently opened Border West Expressway via roundabout to continue on your travels. From Border West Expressway you can exit at Sunland Park, Resler, or get back onto I-10.

Another hours-long closure that may impact you if heading west on I-10 Sunday night is the continuing work on the Mall Braided Ramps Project in the Cielo Vista Mall/Fountains at Farah area. Beginning Sunday, Feb. 9, at 9 p.m. there will be a complete closure of I-10 westbound between Hawkins and Airway.

This has been the case for the better part of a year. I-10 Westbound closed at 9 pm last June 2019 when I was there. Follow the detour signs and you'll have no trouble. You also have GPS Maps on your Smartphone. Not that big a deal.

Thanks, Rich. We'll be leaving Las Cruces heading east Monday morning (the 10th). We're usually on the road no earlier than 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning. Think we'll be OK or should we take Anthony Gap to get to the east side?

Rob

I think you'll be fine. btw....are you the same Rob from SD I met yesterday at Hacienda RV Resort?

Maybe this post should be moved to Roads and Routes , or delete here and repost there?

TX DOT wonโ€™t sign the detours? Lots easier than memorizing the list of this and that.
