Is 70 the age to stop towing

I think maybe if you drive a motorhome at 70 you are safe, but pulling anything behind it is not safe.
So big a world, so little time to see.

Yeah, some people don't recognize it as a trolling post and think the suggestion/question is serious, so they get a bit upset that someone would want them to quit towing before they are ready. Which is kind of the whole point of the thread: get people stirred up so they post. But it isn't overly mean-spirited like some threads, which get closed pretty promptly.

So, did Supercharged respond to the troll, or does he himself engage in trolling. Either way, I'm in with my 2 pennies.

Just remember this is a trolling thread, not to be taken seriously. So don't get too upset and think someone is taking potshots at the old people. The thread is just to stir people up and get responses.

Again, don't take the OP, and this thread, seriously.

I'm one year away from age 80, and I'm wondering if anyone cares to know how good a driver I am? Well, it doesn't matter does it? I know I can pass the vision test, AND a driving test.
So, the question remains the same, who will determine the method for eliminating substandard drivers?
BTW hooking up and towing my GMC Envoy behind my Dutch Star, in a safe manner, is a piece of cake. I even know the science behind the procedure for maintaining control in event of a front tire blowout. How do you test for that?

For many people 70 is the time to get serious about traveling in an RV.

I guess we gotta quit makein the rv bounce while parked too ?:E
I will be 70 in May, work out regularly, vision 20/20 thanks to cataract surgery, & still pass a FAA 3rd class physical. This makes me laugh that someone thinks most of us old geezers need to quit.

I really shouldn't be going as one shouldn't not pull anything afer 70 anyway I read that some where on the RV Net.
That's trailers, Supercharged. You got a Class C now. No restrictions. We can go up to a 45' Prevost until we're well into our 80s.
I was going to get one, but there are two many places I want to go, and at 45 ft. RV can't go there. I don't want to impress any one, did that in my 20's and 30's out grew that long ago.
That's why it's best to have both a new Prevost and a new Class C. It depends on what you want, not what people in their 20's and 30's think you should have.

We did Michigan three years back. Went over the top into Wi.
What date were you talking about, I seem to remember something. I don't remember as well as I did a few years back.

Here is a copy/paste of my PM to you way back in Feb. 2008.

Hi Supercharged,
Les Adams (Travel Trailer Forum moderator) and I (Towing Forum moderator) are planning an invitational RV.net rally this year to be held at Eby's Pines Campground , located in Bristol, Indiana and will be held on July 17-20,2008. We would like to invite you to attend if you could see your way clear to drive all this way.

Too bad you couldn't make it as there is no chance of either Les or I making it out West anymore. He has sold his trailer and I have permanently parked mine and quit towing as of this year. We both would have very much enjoyed meeting you. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you are interested in the rest of the conversation we had back then, let me know via PM and i will send it to you. ๐Ÿ™‚

It's a long ways up to Michigan. You guys coming down to Arizona in the Winter might be a better play.
