I spent about 45 minutes on their website this morning, couldn't find anything. Following all the links to 'Maps' just lead me to a text box that say, 'Select Travel Publications. Enter a description of the publications you are looking for and we will do our best to fulfill your requests from AAA Publications. When finished, click Continue with order at the bottom of the page. Enter Publications Requested:'... but nowhere a list of publications to choose from and to order automatically.Is this really true? The ONLY way to get maps is to know ahead of time the names of the maps you want, and fill out this last-century web form? And, I assume, wait till Tuesday or Wednesday until somebody reads it?

Amazon has a lot of the them, but I don't know if what you want is in there.AAA maps on AmazonBill

When I log in to AAA, I can click on TRAVEL and then Order Maps and Tourbooks. That takes me to a page that has various fields for Tourbooks, State Maps, City Maps, etc. It states on the page: To make multiple selections Control-click on your PC, Command-click on your Mac. Your selections will deliver in 7 to 10 business days. You may select up to 10 publications.

If you want maps that are accurate, stay away from AAA maps! We've found so many mistakes on them that we no longer trust them! We order Rand McNally from Amazon or most Barnes and Noble stores carry them.

When they're open I often stop at truck weigh stations and pick up state maps.

Oooo.... that does sound good!

I got my AAA order today. Of the 11 maps I requested they sent 3... plus about 8 others I guess someone thought I would like. Sigh.

Benchmark shows all public lands in different colors. It shows state parks and many other campgrounds. We like them especially because we did a lot of backcountry travel with our Jeep and the roads are shown clearly.

Do the Benchmark atlases show BLM land? That is my only complaint about AAA maps, which I otherwise love.

Agreed; Benchmarks are the best. Amazon has some, but they may not be the latest edition; check the publication date of the desired state against the atlases on the Benchmark website.

One caution about ordering from the Benchmark website: the order page, *including credit card information*, does not show as "secure"! One could try contacting the company about this issue; you may have better luck that I did, i.e., nobody ever answered the phone. :h

If you travel in the Western states nothing beats the Benchmark series of atlases. There's one for each state and they beat DeLorme hands down.

For individual state maps the Welcome Centers of each state have very good ones.

MN rest stops have free maps too and the official state maps are great.

But, if you really want a good detailed map you have to get one of these Delorme Atlas and Gazettes for each state. Like the one below for MN. I have one and absolutely love it. It has every detail listed. Parks, Campgrounds, and even small little back dirt roads. It's great.
