It definitely makes a difference where you go for service. I took my 2011 Chateau to CW in Woodstock, Georgia to have Maxxair covers installed....they installed by screwing DIRECTLY to my roof...yep 12 holes in roof I do not need or want...but I have. Upon calling CW and getting a call back I was offered a 'one time leak test', boy how generous. I am not concerned about leaks (at this time) but more of compromise of roof material over the years as all the STUFF accumulates and not being able to be washed/cleaned properly. Oh well....so it goes.
Me take ANYTHING to CW.....not NO but HECK NO!!
Still looking for a reputable shop-other than my knuckle busting self.
"Primitive Petes" can be anywhere - at any business!..:(
Working at Mickey D's or Taco Bell one week, RV Tech or mounting tires at Costco the next.
*YOUR* job is to be skeptical/doubtful of the skill level of *ANY* "RV Tech" or tire guy at Costo, etc.
Don't drink the service mgr's Kool Aide - check on the guy doing the work!
Watch - Ex: tire/wheel mounters with impact wrenches.
Ask - "Gee...ahhhh...how do you plan to install the vent covers?"
Play a polite dummy: "Show me, please!"
Don't hesitate to call a halt or discuss the job if you're not happy!
Good possibility you know more -or have more hands-on experience- than the guy doing the job.
Plus - It's *YOUR* RV/car/truck he's working on!..:W
