Here lately I am seeing many posters apologizing for a long post. Is there something I have missed in the rules somewhere that says the posts should be a short yes - no length.If so I am probably a big offender of this policy. I give long descriptions along with photos and links if I have them available -I think I have seen four posts today apologizing in advance for a long post. Maybe I have missed something along the way...Roy Ken

No apologies needed, it's your nickel.I never read overlong posts. I see this forum as a source of information not a place to give an opinion or blow off steam.

A lot of people tend to gloss over long posts and miss the point. I generally find them tedious especially if it is one long paragraph without capitals and proper punctuation.

I'm sorry, your post is too long and will be deleted. :)I don't mind reading long posts as long as the OP uses a little puncuation and carrage returns.

I seldom read big long winded posts. Particularly annoying are the ones about a posters personal experiences that aren't even about the subject at hand.Keep it short, concise, and to the point. Cut the blabber.Post long winded grandiose posts if you like, I probably won't read them.

Oh and I'm guilty of long posts. I might take half a day to write a long one to try to help someone out with an issue. Sure they might just get glassy eyed by the 10'th paragraph, but that's okay by me as I gave them my best shot at helping that I could.

So I belive that one of the variations of the golden rule is to post in a manner that other folks are able to read and interpret it clearly and effeciently.
