Manatee Hammock campground Titusville fl

Just returned from a trip to Fl. We stayed 8 days at Manatee Hammock campground in Titusville, Fl. All of the sites are extremely close. Our site had neighbors on all sides, (except for the road) and were about 10 feet apart. The ground was covered with a black substance similar to charcoal dust. When it rained (and it did Rain) it became a real mess. The weeds looked like they haven’t been cut in over a month. Two of the trees had poison ivy around them. Called the office and asked if the weeds could be cut. They stated they couldn’t while we were there, the machines might cause damage. I guess they didn’t have any weedeaters. Garbage receptacles are located at the front of the grounds and you have to travel through the entire campgrounds to discard trash. The one positive aspect of the grounds was that the area near the lake/river was well kept and nice. It’s a shame the remaining grounds was not equal to the river/lake area. We would not recommend this site.
