I already had my Max Air covers and the reason given to me for not recommending the use of the Max Air by FF themselves has always been because of the lid openingโฆ
The one thing the video proves is that opening the lid farther wasnโt what was needed as it was opened only 3 inches for the demonstration to accommodate the different covers and still allowing for full airflow using their coverโฆ that leaving the difference to be something else not the lid positionโฆ
So what are the differences causing the air flow differencesโฆ what I found with the old Max Air I have is they came with standard screening over the louvered portion of the coverโฆ the screen not the lid and not the louvers being the most limiting factorโฆ the cover used in the demonstration doesnโt come with the screening and obviously with all of the demonstrations and comparisons not once did they add their optional screening to see what that does to air flowโฆ
As I said in my earlier post remove the standard screening if you have Max Air or any other brand with screening and the flow will be at least close to using their coverโฆ
I hate marketingโฆ or as it would be more appropriately called professional lyingโฆ but it works, most people buy into it so easilyโฆ
Put a marketer and a product liability lawyer together in one room and the results can be lethalโฆ
I am not knocking their product but these demonstrations are almost always designed for the product โฆ in other words the deck is usually stacked by only including that which you know will wow the viewerโฆ now maybe their cover has a few more sq. in of louvers to, but wouldnโt make a lot of differenceโฆ
If you want to know do a little simple test of your ownโฆ stand in front of a box fan blowing on your face then place a screen between it and yourself and see how limiting screen can beโฆ
