- ro_sieExplorerMy guy does well. He has every compartment loaded up plus one bay in our garage and is encroaching into the other side. I have two screw drivers, a pair of pliars and a flash light in the cabinet beside the bed. He can never find his and is always borrowing mine. Mine, I insist get replaced as soon as the use is over. Same at home except I have more tools to loan him. Its ok tho, he pays for everything, No complaints here.
- campn4walleyeExplorerWe have a rule, if it doesn't get used at least once in a camping season, it gets booted. Could work for you too.
We use to have a 5er and I was a "just in case" girl. DH constantly reminded me that we carried needless items. When we were selling it and clearing it out, I found myself asking why we brought this or that.
Now that we have VERY limited space in the TC, I've learned to carry only those things that are routinely used. No space wasted, no extra weight. I still think "just in case" but I ignore it.
It must be a woman thing. I like to be prepared...just in case. :W - lfcjaspExplorerI cannot load enough food for DH, esp. when our daughter's boyfriend is coming along...these men love to eat! This past weekend, I had plenty for two lunches and two dinners, as well as two breakfasts...and brought home most of it. He doesn't pack a lot of clothes and does well with his tools...but he insists I, we, carry enough food to feed a bunch of hungry people!!!!
I just figure, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Now what he has in this brick rancher is another story... - JohnG3Explorer III like to keep a weeks worth of socks, shorts and T-shirts for a week. Couple pair of Levis and a few Polo shirts in the trailer all thee time. I know what I have and what else I may need to bring to adjust for the season/weather.
DW on the other hand has to tote (read I have to tote) stuff to the trailer to get ready for every trip. "My" section of the closet takes up about 16 inches. She gets the rest.
We do hit the laundromat very near the end of a trip so most of my stuff stays in the trailer and her's comes home.
This system works well for us. - MoteExplorerI don't know if you and your wife are new to camping or not but most newbies tend to take to much stuff the first few times out. As time goes on you and your wife will learn what you really need and take less.
If you're not new to camping and she likes to take lots of stuff, then I'd say don't sweat it. Just enjoy the camping and the time with her. Life is to short and precious to be worrying about the small stuff. - BumpyroadExplorer

I'm with @wthibeaux, you finish off the last snack as you pull into your driveway. When I lay in the provisions for a camping trip, DW has a panic attack "we're gonna starve to death." But somehow it always works out about right, and we don't have to drag a lot of excess food BACK into the sticks 'n' bricks.
When she does the provisioning, she insists we have to take every scrap of food in the house, even just for a weekend trip, and of course, most of it goes back into the house when we return.
She has gotten much better with regard to clothes and shoes and such, however.
shoes, you let a female in VA wear shoes?

His is a truck camper, an Eagle Cap, a total mess, used for hunting, fishing and work. Mine is a 30ft Bigfoot with a Wrangler toad, well kept, always pristine. When he's in mine he picks up after himself, I simply stay out of his.
Works for us. - toedtoesExplorer III
