- Ron3rdExplorer IIIThe tape will work for a while, but it sounds like not much longer. You will need to replace the fabric and it is doable yourself if you're handy.
After you replace your fabric, make yourself a Cheap-O Awning Cover like I did. It protects the awning at the top that faces the sun when rolled up. Exposure to the sun in this area is what wrecks awnings.
Cheap-O Awning Cover From Lowes - fla-gypsyExplorerAt that point it is only a matter of time. Save for a replacement.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIVisit an RV store and get all new fabric,, They take some measurements, They show you the color and fabric selection, You pick one, Then break out your plastic, They slide it through the slot, it melts and you come back in 2 weeks and pick it up,, Or you can let them run your card again and install it for you.
- BuckBarkerExplorerTo answer your initial question directly; yes, Eternabond tape will work at least for awhile.

Two to three person job takes about 2 hours with luck.
Not hard to do.
Or pay to have it done.
Tape will only delay the inevitable... I bought the tape but before I could put it on a big wind came through and tore the material away from the RV. - JAXFLExplorerReplace the whole thing. A dealer can order it in and put it on for you. Had to do mine after 7 years, cost about 350.
