This is discouraging to hear JEEP is getting away from the TRANSFER CASE concept.
Been towing JEEPS from way back in the 50s and 60s when they had the flip lock hubs that made you walk out into mud up to your knees to engage them when you went into 4WD. Then they all started to come out with automatic transmissions but by switching the transfer case to NEUTRAL solved the problem just fine.
May have to hang onto my older JEEP for awhile longer...
