I do not think my brakes work.....I hooked up the camper and my wife did the brake control and no sound came from the brakes so I did the compass thing and the pointer never moved. So my concern from my last trip must be correct.....I think I have a broke brake wire as the other things work......My plug tester does not give me a light for the brake circuit....

Be sure the IGNITION KEY is on when doing the lever test. Also some trucks like my 2010 FORD F150 has to be going at least 10MPH when just pressing down on the brake pedal to get any BRAKE CONTROL action going to the trailer brakes... The BRAKE CONTROLLER SLIDE LEVER however should work all the time but ignition key may have have to be on first.I always check my trailer brakes when I am first pulling out for the trip. Will use the BRAKE CONTROL LEVER coming up on the first STOP SIGN in my neighborhood and let the trailer brakes stop me.Roy Ken

Do the brakes work when you pull the break-away plunger on the TT? If no then the problem is in the TT brakes. If they work with the break-away switch check the TV brake controller circuit.

On my TT - it turned out to be a bad ground. The screw holding the wire to the frame had come loose. Tightening it up solved the problem.

I always engage the manual brake lever and ease off the truck brakes to check the trailer brakes hold me back before I leave. This is after I check the lights. I just do the hazards and do a walk around as I am typically alone during hook up at home.

X2...my pups brakes didn't work either... Quick check found that the ground wire was installed to short and it pulled out of the ring terminal.

A lot of times the plug from the camper has corroded and making bad contact. I just re-wired one today that had that problem,I went to parts store and bought a new plug and installed it, problem solved...

I took the plug out of the bumper and it looks like the installer of the in bed plug spliced into the main bundle and used to small of a wire and it broke in to ......
