Oregon Coast Park looking for year-round host

Friday thru Mondays (3 days off) checking in guests and filling propane.....easy work for 1 person. Free space and all utilities in exchange. No Propane on Sundays - just guest check-ins. Reply to campblanco@yahoo.com for questions and info.
  • Is this the Port Orford municipal or a different one? Absolutely LOVE the area and if we weren't already committed to moving around every month or so we would apply. Perhaps in a few years.
  • It's Camp Blanco RV Park (www.campblanco.com)in Port Orford at the north end of town on Highway 101 (privately owned) - not the State Park

Total number of hours per week?

Winter hours are 10am to 6 and summer hours are 9am to 7. Friday through Monday (4 days) but most of that is just "on watch", and really only about 1/3rd of the time you are helping guests. No propane sales on Sunday, so Sundays are pretty quiet overall.
  • Looks like the hours of actual work are closer to 20 per week, maybe less in the winter, but the site is worth a lot more than $330 per month, would seem that $500 per month is closer to the site value assuming that FHU is included. The pay then would come out to more like $6 per hour worked, still below minimum wage but considering that you're close to the ocean probably a good deal. And this is a volunteer position so hard to expect to have wages of a regular employee. Oregon parks are really nice places to work or to camp.
