When we had our Jeep, we carried two full 5-gallon fuel cans on the back. I can't count the number of times I was approached by someone asking for money for gas. Every time I'd offer to put 5 gallons in their tank, and was turned down every time ("naw man, I just need the cash, you got any cash?") except for once.
I had a guy approach me in a local grocery store parking lot. He wanted money for fuel. I told him I'd give him 5 gallons, and he was seriously appreciative. While I was pouring it in, he told me his boss was supposed to deliver a paycheck but was an hour late. He offered to take my info and pay me, but I looked at it as a Good Sam moment.
Got the fuel in his tank, and as he started his car, another pulled up really fast. It was his boss, with his check.
One out of I can't count how many.
The guy I mentioned in the opening post in this thread said he was really out of gas and did not want to pull across the road to Krogers. At that time a guy returned the RV owners gas can filled with gas. He poured in the 5 gallons then said he could drive to Kroger's if I still wanted to fill up his MH.
Yes he had some gas I expect but it did hold 45 gallons which was very low especially with it getting dark on Christmas Eve and things closing.
I asked if he wanted me to fill his 5 gallon gas containers and he brought out 1. In Spanish I asked if he did not have 2. He said tres so I pointed for him to put the other two on the ground. I filled the tank but because of my physical limitations he took the hose and filled the 3 containers.
He had a blue, yellow and red 5 gallon fuel cans but when he was asking for gas he only had the red one setting beside the MH. :) - Gale_HawkinsExplorer

Saw a guy at Walmart today standing near an old camper-van wearing ACU (army-combat-uniform) trousers and holding a cardboard sign "Homeless & Hungry Veteran, Please Help"! Being near a large Army Post, many people stopped and handed him cash. When I walked by he asked; "Are you a Christian?" I asked him what branch of the service he was in and he said "Army", how long? "4 years" he said. He looked to be in his early twenties and I asked what rank? He answers "Senior Sergeant" - Young man there is no such rank in the Army, and you are not a veteran! I then asked if he was a Christian? He said, "none of your business" then promptly got in his van and drove away. These are the worst kind of slugs!
This is why a short interview is in order in my view before passing out cash. My dad thought be to offer food if they claim to be hungry, gas if they claim they need money for cash. Most people who are hungry or out of gas will take the item they are requesting money for. - ramgunnerExplorerWhen we had our Jeep, we carried two full 5-gallon fuel cans on the back. So on the flip side WWJD if they were lying, scamming and stealing money from good, honest people?
According to Luke, he told the criminal on the cross, "truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
That would be the 'Penitent Thief'
The one that ASKED for forgiveness - IndyCampExplorer

Forget the taxes, the government, and all of that...
Let's break it down to it's most simple aspect...
What would Jesus do?
Would Jesus turn away the truly mentally ill homeless people?
Yes or no?
How do you know who is truly mentally ill?
According to rockhillmanor, those who are "truly homeless" seek "shelter and take advantage of ALL that is offered by the government, churches, etc."
Anyone who does not do all of the above is not "truly homeless," according to rockhillmanor.
Again, what would Jesus do?
You might ask those those who were scamming and stealing money from good, honest people in the temple?
