Pet Boarding when visiting Disneyland

We have been traveling to Disneyland annually. This is our first trip since 2019. We have always had dogs, and have always kept them in the Kennel at Disneyland since 2006. Disneyland has closed their Kennel permanently, using Covid as an excuse. It was probably not a money maker, but had been an essential resource for pet owners. I've heard that Walt Disney wanted a kennel so people wouldn't leave their pets in their hot cars.

We have a new puppy that isn't over her "barking" stage yet. So leaving her in the RV at the RV Park isn't an option as she barks often. I don't want to subject my neighbors to this. We have an older dog as well. Doggie Daycare isn't a great alternative as they open late and close early, and we don't want to board them for days at a time.

In my opinion Disneyland has gotten greedy since Covid hit. I have a small business that does events, and we suffered greatly during covid. So I get that, but it seems like Disneyland keeps taking away things and not adding things for their visitors.

I'm curious what others have done with their pets when they visit Disneyland nowadays?

while we haven't taken Maggie the Wonder Beagle to Disney with us, when we're on the road and will be going somewhere where we can't take Maggie we will board her at a kennel, either for a full or partial day or for overnight. doggie daycare/boarding businesses are everywhere...even some vets offer that service. if Disney no longer offers that service it would seem your options are limited to boarding or not going to Disney. you might check the bulletin boardor office if you're staying at an RV Park to see if anyone in the park will dog-sit for you.

Don't know about that area, but we carry shot records. Have when wanted to leave dog safe for few hours looked into groomers. Tell them what you want to do, they often have room. I prefer to pay small business.

Wow, I didn't even realize they had a Kennel for dogs. So many hotels now allow dogs, I'd think most people would just leave their dog in their room during the day when out at the parks.

For whatever reason, our dog (Aussie Shepherd) hardly ever barks, she is very quiet almost all the time. Only time she barks is when she gets really, really worked up, or has a really good reason to bark (like when telling us she needs to go out, haha). Since she is so quiet, we have no problem leaving her in the RV when we are out, and she is fine.

I can see how Disney taking away the kennels, makes it really difficult for a lot of dog owners. Sounds like a good opportunity for someone to open up a dog sitting business around Orlando. ๐Ÿ™‚

Disney is not Walt's company anymore. It's a Corporation to make money.

We have always boarded our dogs at home. We didn't even take them to Florida.
