- VeebyesExplorer IIYep, the subject comes up here often enough. Go to a boating forum to really see it beaten to death by people looking for an easy one step little work fix.
Of course the easy, little work, fix does not exist especially if the surface has been neglected & is powdering.
If this is where you are at you are in for a multi product multi step not so easy job if you want to restore the gelcoat to a long lasting deep shine. It could be as involved as compounding then a multi coat of sealer or pure wax or it could be a cleaner wax followed by a sealer or pure wax.
Cheap product generally results in cheap results. It takes the same labour to use either cheap product or quality long lasting product so better spend the extra $ & get the good stuff that will last more than a couple of months. - Captain_HappyExplorerI've used product called "Buff Magic".It can be bought on line at Amazon.com. It's a product used be boat people to restore the finish on there fiberglass boats. Use a 4" buffer/ pad. Use very little at a time. I've used it on 2 of my rig which where really badly oxidized. Brought the shine back on both.
- jwmIIExplorerAero Wash wax mop kit. It's pricey, but a real work saver.
www.aircraftspruce.com - PogoilExplorerThe best product I have used is Flitz metal polish, yes on the can it says for fiberglass too. I used a regular buffer not a random orbital.
The pad only requires a small amount of the Flitz at a time.
I have tried a dozen or more products and this one worked the best.
Pogoil. - wandering1ExplorerYes its called wax and polish.

3M compound, A DA buffer and a little elbow grease. This will restore the original fiberglass shine. Forget the poli Glow and Lowes floor wax. Buff the shine back and put a good wax over it. Nu finish will keep it shining.
Use the Poliglow and take the rest of the month it will take using the 3M compound, buffer and elbow grease, to go camping. :S - larry_barnhartExplorer

works for me.
chevman - mobilefleetExplorerI'm a member of the zep wet look club. Worked great for me. Key is prep by using barkeepers friend and a sponge to thoroughly clean rv before you apply wet look. I used a spray bottle and microfiber towel. Nothing else will come close to the shine you get, period.

- SHExplorerLike others have eluded to...there are many good products. I have tried many of them. The most recent product I tried this past summer on the recommendation of "Dr. Glass", our local fiberglass marine repair station, is called Seapower. Worked very well but takes a little more work than a regular wax.
