- jetcareExplorerThe date code on the tires has me worried.

As a poor country boy I have seen many 'self-help' repairs.....most of them MINE
I wouldn't have wasted so much tape...only needed around end of handle.
Tape unnecessary around leaf spring. Vise grips handling that duty - Sport45Explorer IIC-clamp to pull them together and vice grips to hold them in place. Or maybe they walked them together alternating back and forth between the pliers. In any case it looks like a good temporary fix to me.
I do agree they wasted too much tape. And I'd of probably run a piece of wire through each of the pliers and tied them off loosely to the axle so I wouldn't lose them if they slipped off. No duct tape repair is complete without the application of baling wire! - Army11BravoExplorer III would have tied the vice grips off to the frame with bailing wire in case one falls off. That way you don't lose a valuable tool.
- slickest1ExplorerThere is a career awaiting you at Camping World!
- As long as those brakes are good you should have no issues ;)
Give the pliers a check after 50 miles. - WNYBobExplorerWhat breaks, I didn't see any!
- NanciLExplorer IIYou should have cleaned the area first !
Jack L - jfkmkExplorerThe only issue I see is you used electrical tape as opposed to duct tape. What self respecting RV'er doesn't carry a roll or two of duct tape??
