If the existing clock can be disassembled, you can likely replace the movement. A search an eBay lists several movements, some as cheap as 99 cents with free shipping:

Thanks for the suggestions but anything I've seen so far appears to be too deep and therefore might interfere with the adjacent slide. Found more traditional face clocks which ARE supposed to be "silent"..

SILENT ANALOG CLOCK

The shipping size is listed as 2" depth but I suspect it is a normal battery powered clock depth of about 1"..

Looks like there a bunch of "click less" clock versions available and if depth is a major concern, I would suggest posting a question on Amazon for the models that interest you about the depth..

Your clock is louder than the A/C or than the furnace? Ouch. Well I guess my partial hearing loss isn't a bad thing after all.

Rarely use the A/C, never at night when we're trying to sleep and that darned clock tick drives me nuts. Our primary heat source is a ceramic electric heater that barely makes any sound at all, the furnace we only use to augment the electric heater when outside temps really begin to drop and at that it only runs intermittently. Scoff if you must, the clock tick is annoying.

Understand completely, my DD was given a battery powered princess clock with her name on the face for a Christmas gift by a relative..

My DD hated the clicking noise of said clock and that was when she was 5 yrs old.

Ended up sending said clock to Goodwill since it was pointless to hang a clock with no battery on the wall.

Because you are not searching for ""RV"" wall clocks that have the whole click and turn mount on the back that matches the one on RV's.

One google search netted me an entire page of

"RV CLOCKS"

.
https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=RTkjWun3JcrUmAGJ4q-IBg&q=rv+wall+clocks&oq=rv+wall+clocks...

Here is just one.

Tried that too, little improvement. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Myself, I like the tick tock.

Probably why I have 3 Grandfather clocks running all the time in the house. I like them, the chimes and the tick-tock too.

Nope ... tried that, didn't work. ๐Ÿ˜ž It's the mechanism itself. My solution is a digital clock but my wife won't have it. :R

Just pulling the second hand off a clock that has one will do nothing because the mechanism FOR the second hand is STILL in there causing the clicks. As you have found out.

I lucked out and my MH came with a clock with out the second hand. I hear nothing from this clock.

I have bought several clocks without the second hand for my home and none of them click either!.

You have not looked hard enough!! There's a plethora of nice looking clocks that will fit in that space and do NOT have a second hand.

As I mentioned earlier to my surprise Dollar Store and Walmart have a 'very' nice selection of unique wall clocks with out the second hand.

I don't like the digital format clocks, either. For the S&B, I went to an antique shop and bought an old GE with sweep second hand. I can't hear it with my ear nearly against it.

There are battery driven analog clock mechanisms that are virtually silent, too. We were gifted a clock that had a pendulum, battery operated. It was quiet.
