Quiet Water Pumps

My modulated Sureflo was every bit as noisy as its modulated Flojet replacement until i did the sound deadening mods

I guess that's why it's name has the word "jet" in it... ;)

Mine is a Shurflo, so it was the pipes making most of the noise on mine.. Didn't realize the jets where internally louder.

Have you guys ever heard a flojet? They do not sound like Shurflo pumps.

Yes, it is all about how it is mounted & pipe connections. An accumulator tank will help too.

I removed the pump screws and put a thick rubber pad under it and then left the screws loose a little. Both the inlet and outlet hoses go into the floor at the pump so there is very little I can do there. I agree with the water hammer part because the pump is very loud in the bathroom which is several feet from the pump and with a wall in-between. I bought some insulating material like is used in cars and tried insulating the "box" where the pump is located but no help at all. I don't mind paying the $70 or so dollars if it helps quiet things down.

This is brand new trailer but everything in is pure "China Junk." Very unhappy with the "stuff" in it.

two inch foam under the pump and lots of pipe insulation on the pipes and esp any that are next to and touching the walls or floor.

Another vote for it's mostly about the mounting.

Ever heard a Flojet Mitch?

I have one mounted and hose buffered like Mitch, as well as pipe insulation around the loops, and I literally cannot hear it run unless it's full speed.
