READY BRAKE / after the trip!

JUST RETURNED... I purchased the (Ready Brake), I was unsure of how well it would work and went on my trip for 11days. Up and down all those hills in N. ALABAMA and was very impressed on how well it worked. The dummy light that is included with the kit was so cool. The install was very simple and the adjustment on the brake cable was very simple. I strongly recommend this for towing your toad!!! I hooked it to a 2000 Nissan Frontier, fully loaded for dry camping in Talladega, Al. I cannot tell enough folks how well it worked for me. Rv.net and thier ole pros help me to figure out what brake package to use. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
  • The RB saved my bacon a few days ago on my way to FL. I was in rush hour traffic outside Columbia, S.C., at close to the speed limit, in the middle lane. A young lady in the left lane cuts right in front of me. Not a big deal I took my foot off the pedal to give her some room.

But, she didn't just want to change lanes, she wanted off at the exit we were just starting to pass. There was traffic in the right lane getting off the exit. She slams on the brakes, came to a stop to wait for an opening. I was standing on the brake, I have no idea how we didn't crash. I glanced in the my door mirror and could see the RB had the Jeep's brakes locked up, tires squeeling. Pretty scarey!

I definatly know that it was close enough that if I didn't have the RB, I would have slammed into her. And, it probably would have been my fault.
  • Is there really another worthwhile option and especially for the simplicity and best bang for the buck? I wonder if anyone would ever go back to what they had after using one of these for a while.
  • We are on our second Ready Brake. First one went away when we went off the road for 3 1/2 years. Now that we are back on the road new toad and new Ready Brake, most wonderful invention!
  • It was comments like this that encouraged me to get a ReadyBrute Elite towbar several years ago. After years of use, driving in mountains and on the flats, twisty roads out East, and hooking up the toad both solo and with help, I am also a real fan of this ReadyBrute towbar. There is nothing to go wrong! It just works, and works very well.
  • +1. I use the ReadyBrute Elite system which has the ReadyBrake mounted on the two bar. Not only does the Ready Brake work well, but the 8,000 lb tow bar is easy to handle and light.

What other system gives you a quality tow bar and brake system for $1k
