Refrigerator - On AC power keeps saying "Check"

That, in my experience, is not a true statement.

I had an Atwood Helium fridge and it went into "check" mode a lot, both on propane AND electric.

The problem with the electric "check" issue turned out to be a blown fuse outside in the circuit board. I had to remove a bunch of screws and a heat shield, but there it was - a blown fuse. Change the fuse, fridge was back to working on electric. However, the fuse blew again. Something bad was happening and blowing that fuse.

This is in a 2015 model year trailer. Atwood paid to have their fridge replaced with a Dometic - the Atwood helium was THAT problematic for me.

Sounds to me like switch was being operated in reverse. "Check" should only come on in gas mode.

The power cord/outlet in outside compartment, push/pull on cover to module in outside compartment, 'Gas' button up/down/up/down ??

Wonder if the electric heating element is bad?

Through the outside access panel. Are you positive you have 120VAC at the recepticle behind the refer?

It has power... I will keep messing with it....

As far as running it on gas. Make sure your Tank(s) is open and you have gas, I know...no brainer, it will take a while for the air to purge out of the gas line. Thus the clicking you hear. I always light a couple of stove top burners for a few minutes to help purge the air. This seems to help with that problem. Now, as far as the unit running on A/C power you might have a blown fuse. Keep in mind though even if you run on A/C power you generally have to have 12V DC for the control panel. Worse case would be bad circuit board. Also check to make sure the GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) has not been tripped. There is generally one GFCI inside the camper that controls all outlets that need GFCI protection. Also check breaker panel on your inverter. Best wishes and I hope you find an easy and no/low cost solution to your problem. God's Speed.
