Replace Builtin Convection Oven without cabinet damage

On the plus side, the convection oven is a really tight fit that looks great without an external trim ring. However, the convection oven died on the last trip. Based on the smell and what I've read, it's probably not a cheap fix, so I will be replacing the unit.

I've barely gotten into looking at it, but it appears the trim might be glued on to the underlying wood. Any hints on how to pull the current unit without significantly damaging the trim?
  • I got it out. It didn't have plugs, but it did have screws. They were hidden behind wood grain look contact paper. You can see in this picture. In the picture below, the two screws to the right are removed. The third one over I've cut the contact paper and the fourth one is still hidden. NOTE: I had to remove both bottom and top trim to remove the convection oven.

This is the picture of what it looks like inside for those of you who might be interested.

It had relatively long wood screws holding the trim on: 4 on the top board and 4 on the bottom board.
  • Trim should have some screws holding it on. Look for some small round plugs, probably 4. You should be able to pop the plugs out and find some screws under them.

Edit: on looking closely at the picture looks like wood trim rather than the normal metal frame. I would still think there are screws hidden somewhere. Or maybe some very small finish nails.
  • Could we get a picture. Mine has a trim above it that is held in place by screws. Once that is removed it is easy to get to the screws that hold the unit in place.
