Well, the CH751 lock broke in one of my TT's compartments, so it is time to replace them.Here are a few options I'm looking at:Triangular "key" cam lock.Medeco Cam Lock.Round key locks.Locking thumb handle.What I mainly am interested in are locks that can handle road grime and the elements, as opposed to actual security, because the compartments are easily opened with a long screwdriver.What would other people recommend? I am leaning towards the triangle "key" because it is good enough to keep honest people honest, and since it has no moving tumblers, it will be the least prone to mechanical failure.

Are you going to replace all, or just the broken one?? Keep in mind tat it will just be another key to keep up with, so whichever you pick, I would put it on the least used compartment, and move whatever is there to keep just one keey for the ones used most.

I am going to replace all of them, for that exact reason.

If your RV entry door latch mechanism is made by Global Link, you can key lock the baggage doors with the same key as the entry door. It's what I did with mine. The one problem is that the tool to pop the cylinder out, they don't sell. Both GL and Fastec tell you to go to a locksmith or RV dealer for that.

I advise against the round key locks. They do not do well in messy environments. Do not spend a whole lot on them, they are only to secure the door when underway and none of them will stop a committed thief. Matt

Yes I replaced all the locks on the camper. Now I have one key for all the locks.

I recently had our TC into the dealer for some warranty work. The compartment where the remote jacks control and remote are located is only accessible with the Global Link key. When I went to pick up the camper the workers had to hunt down the service guy who had the only keys to the rig so they could jack up the camper and remove the trailer it was sitting on, since their CH751 key wouldn't open the compartment door. I guess they didn't think to ask me for the key!

I didn't realize they would be so expensive. I must remember to clean and lubricate my cargo door locks to make them last.

They are available on eBay. It's worthwhile to have one around.

We replaced all of our locks with sets from RVLocksAndMore and they worked very nicely. We replaced both the handle and deadbolt locks in the doors so none of them are master-keyed any more.

you are talking about that little Nubbins that you have to line up with the slot to insert the key? without it, just poke and guess, or guess and poke.

There is a bump on the outside of the key, about 1-1.5 millimeters, when the lock is at the 12:00 position. File that off, and you can pull the key out at any stop.

I found some double-sided locks that have a shutter... same lock mechanism as gas caps, so I decided to use those. The key is thicker, so it won't snap in my hand like the CH751s do.

On the round locks........you can file the ridge off the key which lets you remove the key.

Only draw back is that you can not remove key they are in the open position. You have to turn back to the closed position when door is open, if you want to open another door with key.
Also I believe that all RV MFG's use the same key cut for the standard locks. That is so if you take your RV in for service, the repair place does not need to have you leave a key.
