RV Buyer's Broker?

Many RVs cost as much as a house which makes finding the right RV at the right price both difficult and important. When I went searching for the right house for me I used a Buyer's Broker who had the knowledge and experience to listen to my wants and needs, then scour the market to find a limited number of homes that fit.

I'm wondering if there are any RV Buyer's Brokers out there to help with the search for a used motorhome. Yes, I can scan Craigslist, Ebay, and a bunch of other sites to try to find a few good RVs to consider. But since I'm completely inexperienced it will likely take an enormous investment of time that includes hitting a lot of dead ends I could have avoided if I actually knew what I was doing. Are there any services out there that you can pay a fixed dollar amount to (or a percentage of the negotiated buying price) to help find and buy a used RV?

If not.... great business opportunity for someone out there!

There are people that professionally do this for cars. They often know all the dealers and can negotiate prices. The buyer pays them $500 or whatever the fee is for them to do all the hassles.

Funny ....that sounds exactly what the sales persons at the dealers lot does ????:):h

Not quite. The dealer won't scour Craig's List and other FSBO sources to find an RV that fits your needs.

As a buyer, I'd be happy to pay someone a % or set fee to do that part of the legwork for me.

Who will pay this broker? In realestate the buyer's broker takes a % of the sales commission. I don't think that RV dealers will be willing to share their profits. If you pay the broker, how do you know that he saved you more than he cost.

The buyer always pays the commission in real estate (boats too), transactions. The Realtors would have you believe the seller pays the commission, as an inducement to use their services, but the only person putting money into the deal is the buyer. The seller determines how much they will walk away with and that will always include commission and other miscellaneous costs which ultimately are paid in full buy the buyer.
