RV Hookups near Hospitals

Well here we go...the cheapskates will be coming out of the woodwork using the free hospital sites even when they have no real reason to do so. Will screw it up for those with a real need.

would love to see someone take the time to build list of hospitals with rv sites; however, I think most will just ask at the hospital they intend to visit.. as most people pick their hospital based on doctors recommendation or closeness of family for assistance.

GM, have you looked at Boondockers welcome? You can register with them and then stay at peoples homes, and register for them to stay at yours... you can search without being a member but can't get the details for others.

Parked my rig at Mercy in OKC when my brother was there, used by his kids from out of state. Mercy is next to Oklahoma Heart Hospital, where my brother was, but the sites were still available.
Parked it again at Baptist in OKC when our pastor was there, used by his family.
Parking is free at both sites.
Didn't intend for these to be used for general RV parking - only for those with friends/family in the hospital.
On another note, I found out last year that an Israeli couple was visiting the states and would be passing through this area, so I offered my hookups. They spent five very enjoyable days with us.

Probably not feasible - but.....you have my vote for the compilation guru.

Unfortunately, won't work at/for lots and lots of major hospitals in urban areas due to parking space availability.

BTW - nice offer, even if you're not "local" to the hospitals.

When our granddaughter was born in Portland OR a year and a half ago discovered Providence Hospital had some sites with power and water. Free to family of patient or if patient was doing outpatient treatments as several neighbors were doing.

This was a huge help as little miss Aubree came a few days early and our reservations at the park nearby didn't start for a another 2 days and they didn't have room for us.

Friends of ours spent a month in a hospital parking lot near Savannah. Power was provided but no water or sewer. That was good enough as she managed just fine while her husband had surgery. Theirs was an emergency situation but a list of hospitals with RV facilities might be helpful to some in choosing where to go for long-term medical procedures. I know that in the Atlanta area it would have been very useful to me. lizzie

Eons ago mom & dad were RV-ing in Texas when dad had a heart attack. The ambulance took him to Midland IIRR. Mom drove their rig and was surprised to find the hospital had an RV lot with security and cameras. They told her that many people came from so far away they bring their rigs to the hospital if a loved one is there.

Mercy Hospital in OKC has 5 sites. Free parking. We stayed there 5 days while my son had surgery. Security at Mercy Hospital was awesome. It snowed and the roads iced and they said stay as long as you need.

One would think that those spaces are meant for people with family actually in the hospital or receiving treament, not the general public
