When I was 70 and my wife had died 5 years ago, I struggle with "where to retire". The kids lived in TN and the stick home was in OH. So I pretended that I had died. Got rid of the stuff as if I had died and went on line and found two good campground membership with low annual maintenance cost and a low resale price. All I wanted was access to C2C, RPI and AOR.
Bought a used TT, less investment than a MH and less problems if I should die 1,000 miles from the kids. Now my yearly living expensive are about $3,000 for camping fees - I like to boondock and stay at Federal campgrounds NP COE BLM FS, $3,000 for food - I do not eat out much - and $3,000 for fuel. Add an extra $3,000 for budget overruns and I live well on my Social Security and have money left over to put in the stock market.
I PLAN ON DIEING IN MY RV. . :B .. . But before that I may become "trailer trash" at a campground closer to the kids if I need to see a doctor often.
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.Travel Photos
