Snow on the way for the west

Global warming strikes again

If you read some of the comments you'll see heavy snow forecast for YNP and Tetons as well. Looking at CO it seems to be missing this weather event. I've been snowed on twice in July in YNP so that's not unusual.
  • Let it snow! We hardly had any snow over the winter. We need the snow.
  • 4 inches of Snow on the ground south of Bend last night caused numerous accidents.
  • When I drove over Red Mountain Pass in CO each week one summer. I often ran into snow or ice near the summit even in Aug. I would start out at Grand Junction around 100 degrees with AC on. By the time I hit Red Mountain I'd have the heater going full blast over Red, Molas, and Coal Bank and then back to AC in Durango.

It does seem like a wetter than normal year even here in southern NM.
  • With the weather we've had the last couple years it wouldn't surprise me it it snows in Key West,Florida in July. :(
