Because they are supported by the ground they are very stable.
GSR's also adjust out from the trailer and can be operated in three or four step mode depending on the terrain. Lastly the feet adjust which allows them to land stable on unlevel ground.GSR's maybe a better solution.they are pricey but they may eliminate the need for the additional step stool.

Went the Moride step route, and they wouldn't work, Looked at the Glow steps, and for me. the price was prohibited / too much for me. The extra step cost much less, and is at least the way I installed it. Is easy to take on, and off. I can use it at either end of the TT depending on which end is higher.
I agree the GSR's are pricey and budget breaking. There are certainly cheaper options.
