? Solution for Mud Daubers In/On A/C?

Is there a solution to keep mud daubers out of air conditioning units when the RV is being used? You can cover them up when in storage but what about at the lake or wherever? Checked with the local dealership and they don't know of a solution (other than keeping the A/C covered up tight).
  • Got a tip here once to use a cat flea collar in the refrigerator outside compartment. Works wonderfully. Should also work in the a/c unit. I change it twice a year.
  • Used fiberglass insect screen on mine. Took the cover off...…..cut the screen to fit inside and a few dabs of silicone to hold it in place.
  • You can make your own screens out of hardware cloth similar to the ones for the furnaces and the water heater. Just make sure that they are pan shaped so they give more surface area for air to flow through that you will lose with screen wire. That's why the ones for the water heater and the furnace arer pan shaped so that you don't restrict are flow.
