South Carolina, Good Samaritan
Friday, August 1st I had a blow-out on hwy 501 jus out of Aynor, SC.
I was on one of those small bridges and barely had room to get off the road.
I was going to change the tire myself, but my wife was petrified of the traffic. So we decided to call Good Sams Roadside Assist. Have a membership.
The traffic was bad. Had to be out in the traffic lane to work.
While on the phone a gentleman of the highest caliber stopped to help. With his help, we had the tire changed in 10 minutes and back on the road. He had a 6X6 cut at a 45 to drive on to change tires. I'm making one of those!!!
This guy had passed me, drove way up the road to turn around to come back to assist.
He was pulling a small trailer too!
When we finished, he refused any money. I mean REFUSED! Now he had picked up my glasses, even mentioned that he had them. In the hurry to get back on the road I forgot to get them. I figured they were gone for good.
NOPE!
This gentleman got 30 minutes up the road and realized he had them. He pulled over and waited. He flagged me down in the misting rain to give them back!
I am thankful there are people like this man in the world.
