Super Hitch

Ford F350 V10 short box Super Duty crewcab 4x4 I bought from a friend to tow a Jayco 24RBS travel trailer has a "2 hole" Super Hitch. He used that when he hauled a camper and he could add a 2' stinger to tow a trailer and get past the camper overhang...

When setting up WDH for my set-up, does it matter which hole to use for the stinger, or just raise/lower head accordingly on the shank?

Thanks!

  • When I hook up the utility trailers I use the lower receiver. The trailers ride with the front too high in the top hole, so the lower hole it is.
Probably a good idea to back up to the trailer and see which receiver tube gets you closest to the trailer height, and go from there to adjust the WD hitch.
  • The SuperHitch is at its maximum rating if you use the double stinger and ball sold by Torklift. If you use another stinger, it will be at the lowest rating of the stinger or ball you choose. Receiver position is not rated differently by Torklift, but I would assume the upper receiver has less leverage under load.
  • You should be able to use either hole. I'd pick the one that leaves the most ground clearance after you get everything adjusted which is likely the top hole.
However, with a Super Hitch on an F-350 and only a 24' camper you may not need the WDH. I never use one with my dually and Super hitch.
  • I recently installed a TorkLift SuperHitch 20K on my Excursion, both 2" holes have the same rating.
