Do some Class A's have a single AC/heat pump thermostat for all the AC's or is there a separate thermostat for each one?

Friend of mine just got a 2004 DSDP and says he only has one t-stat but two AC's.

thanks

There are 3 answers but the short answer is YES.. I will explain

Some have a single thermostat but two temperature sensors. the Thermostat will show two "Zones" one for each sensor, Normally Zone 2 is the rear. This is very common.

Some Well.. there is no reason you can't have two Thermostats one for each "Zone"

and finally technically you could have a single stat control multiple units but.. I've never seen it or heard of it.

Fact: With a Carrier Air V air contioner The A/C has the ability to control the furnace. and my Motor home one of them did.

Alas, had to replace it... So I got a 20 buck (includes part of the sales tax) "Mercury Free" heat only T-Stat from ACE hardware.. A Switch from Lowes (nice rocker looks good where I put it) and an LED and series resistor from my Junque box

Switch on, LED on T-Stat controls furnace

Tested this AM (power fail took out my Electric heaters) and it worked great.. In fact.. I had issues with the Carrier's control of hte furnace.. No so where I mounted the wall stat.. And once I do one tiny touch up, the job will LOOK factory.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

There will be a zone button 1-2.
