Tire question

Hi all.. I need some help.

I think have I researched sufficiently, however, before I make a purchase I like to be sure to get some trusted advice.. which is where all of you come in.

The situation. I have an older TT, 2006 Bantam Flier, which weighs about 3500 lbs when I have it loaded. The current tires (single axle) are getting pretty old, and are looking a bit worn on the sides. They are at least 5 years old, and maybe older as I didn't own it before that. They are 205/75R16 C Load.

I considered LT tires cause I hate going 62 MPH on 65 MPH speed limits when I travel in the USA (I'm from Canada). After some consideration, I think driving slowly is probably for the best anyway. So I have decided on the Maxxis 8008 tires. That being said, they are D load tires. Will that cause problems? Using tires over the load range of my previous tires... what will that effect?

The second part of the question - is Maxxis making the best trailer tire currently? From what I have seen they seem to be, but would like to confirm.
