Tow Dolly

I don't have a dolly. If I bought one it would definitely have surge brakes. I think they're simple and effective.

I'm sure you will get different opinions.

I have an Acme EX tow and am pleased.

2x on the surge brakes.

It comes with electric brakes, and for $120 extra you can get a brake controller installed on the tongue that controls the brakes without having a controller installed in your towing vehicle.
That would make the price $1515 delivered right to your door!
If I ever get another dolly (and I just might), it will most assuredly be this one!

Surge brakes is the only way to go. I've pulled my demco for 50 thousand plus miles with no problems. Two different motor homes and two different cars same ol dolly just new tires.

I have had a MasterTow dolly with electric brakes for years and it works very well. The brake controller in the MH is a good check on how the dolly is reacting to the brakes. I sometimes tow a 25 ft enclosed trailer with electric brakes so the controller serves both purposes.

I also have an Acme tow dolly. It has been a easy change from towing four wheel down. I am pleased with surge brakes as well.

Hello everyone! We are looking at purchasing a tow dolly, but after checking various sellers realized there are electric brake and fluid brake dollies. Any ideas on which would be better (safety wise)?

Both work. I have had both. Personally, I prefer surge brakes. When I had electric brakes, I always wondered if I had them adjusted properly.

The Demco KarKaddy SS has surge system that actuates hydraulic (fluid) brakes.
It’s worked very good for 10 years, 54,000 miles and in all kinds of terrain.
